SINGLE BATCH BRANDY An oak-aged brandy made in the timeless tradition of pot distillation and barrel maturation. This brandy was distilled in early 1990 and then matured for 28 years in vats and small oak casks. It was partially finished in old Penfolds chardonnay barriques and Grandfather Rare Tawny casks, some over 70 years old. The small addition of Grandfather Rare Tawny adds complexity and richness.

Light caramel. Intense aniseed, dried apricot, roasted walnut, spice, sweet brandied herb and pure spirit aromas. Stone fruit, sandalwood, vanilla, herb and floral notes, attractive density of flavour. Excellent warming finesse, balance and finish.

Takes off like a rocket but a classic Australian brandy of great balance and impact. (JH)

Young and lively with grapey walnut, pecan and caramel notes. Very harmonious on the palate with smooth mouthfeel, rounded complexity and balanced alcohol. (FW)
