Medium-deep crimson. Expressive red plum, redcurrant and espresso aromas with herb and camomile notes. Red plum, redcurrant and ground coffee flavours, fine bittersweet yet sinuous tannins, walnut/leather notes and fine, long and crisp acidity. Attractive density and length.
39 percent shiraz, 32 percent grenache and 29 percent mataro.
The tannins flow without a break giving a very good structural contribution to the palate. (JH)
Dark berries, rich dirt, cocoa and char siu pork. A deep core of sweet fruit, a seam of slate and a brooding earthiness. (NR)

Medium crimson. Developed leafy tobacco, walnut, cola and coffee aromas with remnant raspberry notes. Densely concentrated with redcurrant, raspberry, coffee and tobacco leaf flavours, fine loose-knit chalky tannins, attractive mid-palate inkiness, integrated acidity and a long and fresh sinewy/chewy finish. Not a great year but the wine transcends it.
66 percent grenache, 21 percent mataro and 13 percent shiraz.
A solid blend hewn from a less-than-solid harvest. The Barossa Valley may occasionally under-deliver on yield, but rarely quality! (JH)

Medium-deep crimson. Liquorice, sandalwood, plum, milk chocolate and herb notes. A deeply concentrated wine with attractive dark plum and chocolate flavours, fine-chalky textures, attractive mid-palate viscosity and long and fresh acidity. Finishes chalky dry with plenty of fruit sweetness and alcohol kick. A very appealing and easy drinking wine.
42 percent shiraz, 30 percent mataro and 28 percent grenache.
Generous without being overripe. A remarkable achievement considering the vintage conditions and ripening times of each variety. (JH)
Ripe red and black fruits with cinnamon, clove notes. Juicy and light fruited with very fine coating and integrated fruit tannins. (FW)

Medium-deep crimson. Fragrant red cherry and musky red plum aromas with liquorice and cola notes. Inky and supple with plump red cherry, redcurrant and red plum fruits, fine silky tannins and underlying walnut/tobacco notes. Finishes chalky with persistent acidity. Fruit loses momentum at the finish.
50 percent grenache, 27 percent shiraz and 23 percent mataro.
Darkly fruited and layered with alluring spicy meaty nuances, sleek tannins and lovely herbal notes. (NB)
Extremely perfumed wine with floral blueberry aromas, juicy flavours and smooth tannins. (JR)

Medium-deep crimson. Attractive mulberry, red plum and liquorice aromas with herb garden notes. Generous sweet mulberry and plum fruits, fine ripe chalky-gritty tannins, underlying savoury nuances and integrated acidity. A well-balanced wine showing the class of the vintage.
50 percent grenache, 27 percent shiraz and 23 percent mataro.
Luscious wine loaded with dark berry, cherry liqueur flavours, creamy textures and spicy notes. The tannins build up grippy at the finish. (JR)
Ripe and chocolaty/gritty firm with boysenberry fruit, herb, ferrous notes and slight green olive salinity. (NR)

An early-drinking style that has lost buoyancy of fruit. The tannins and acidity dominate.
65 percent shiraz, 20 percent grenache and 15 percent mataro.
2012 ««««« Drink now to 2032.
Medium-deep crimson. Intense liquorice, sandalwood, black cherry and inky graphite aromas. A well-concentrated dense and chocolaty textured wine with black cherry, liquorice and cedar flavours. Fine bittersweet tannins and marked acidity. Quite muscular and vigorous at the finish. A very structured frame with plenty of fruit power.
66 percent shiraz, 23 percent grenache and 11 percent mataro.
Darkly fruited and pure with earthy liquorice notes. Quite compact with attractive fluency of tannins, but bracing acidity. Leads to a very strict firm finish. (NB)
Fresh, balanced and skilfully blended wine with a complex array of red and dark fruits. (JH)
2013 «««« Drink now to 2030.
Medium-deep crimson. Intense blackberry and liquorice aromas with roasted walnut notes. Lovely saturated blackberry, liquorice and sweet fruit flavours, fine chocolaty dry tannins and a long fresh acidity. Finishes chalky, almost gravelly firm with plenty of flavour length.
75 percent shiraz, 15 percent grenache and 10 percent mataro.
A very savoury style bordering on rustic with chewy slightly bitter tannins. (JR)
Hugely dark and inky with plentiful black cherry, liquorice and sweet spice notes, fine layered tannins and great length. One for the long haul. (FW)

Medium-deep crimson. Aromatic and juicy with expressive and ripe musky plum and raspberry aromas with ginger and herb notes. Voluminous with generous raspberry, mulberry fruits, fine silky textures, cola notes, and long fresh acidity. Supple and crunchy with plenty of sweet fruit. Lovely grenache characters coming through.
64 percent shiraz, 21 percent grenache and 15 percent mataro.
Opulent and ripe with softly spicy fruits. Supple and succulent with attractive richness and structured finish. Very good definition and tension. (NB)
Exotically spiced with lush stone fruit sweetness and grainy textures. The palate tightens and compresses with sinewy length. (NR)
