Medium crimson. Advanced raspberry confectionary, coffee and shaded fruit aromas with leafy silage notes. Generously concentrated with raspberry leaf and espresso flavours, fine loose-knit chalky/al dente tannins and underlying savoury herb notes. Finishes sinewy firm with capsicum notes. An old-style Coonawarra throwback.
Shows very good precision, focus, elegance, line and length. (JH)
A bit mulchy and murky with some violet and lavender, potpourri and peppercorn notes. Sappy and sinewy across the palate with slightly clunky tannins. (NR)

Quite developed with black fruits, leafy tobacco and silage notes and grainy firm tannins. Not a great year but still holding.
2004 ««« Drink now.
A dense yet structured wine with attractive richness of fruit and firm chewy tannins. Not really a classic Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz despite its freshness, density and impact.
2005 «« Drink now.
A cool vintage year. The minty notes and sappy tannins tend to dominate.
2006 ««««« Drink now to 2032.
Medium-deep crimson. Attractive raspberry, cassis and mulberry aromas with herb notes. A sweet fruited wine with raspberry and cassis fruits, fine supple-sweet tannins and underlying vanilla notes. Finishes grainy firm with long inky plume. Supple in style with Claret-like density and firmness. A classic vintage.
Abundant ripe fruit with a sweet herbal edge and meaty savoury notes. Potent and slightly hot with firm tannin structure. Should round out with time. (NB)
Deeper colour than predecessors with rich blackcurrant fruits and active tannin support. (JH)
2007 «« Drink now.
A medium-bodied wine with tannins now dominating the palate.
2008 ««««« Drink now to 2032.
Medium-deep crimson. Fresh blackberry, roasted chestnut and vanilla aromas with herb garden notes. Concentrated blackberry and raspberry fruits, fine grainy tannins, roasted chestnut and vanilla oak complexity, mid-palate viscosity and integrated mineral acidity. Firm and inky at the finish. Delicious and expressive wine.
Graceful and well-balanced with dark fruit spice aromas and a fine elegant structure. (NB)
Vibrant blackberry fruit with a touch of pepper and cloves. The palate is still very young yet richly flavoured and lively at the finish. A very nice expression of shiraz. (FW)
