Medium-deep crimson. A superbly focussed wine with beautiful ripe blackcurrant, blackberry fruits, mocha vanilla oak complexity and inky herb garden notes. Concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry fruits with fine grainy tannins and mocha vanilla oak complexity. Finishes chalky firm. Firm yet seductive in style with a lovely density of fruit and mid-palate richness. At its peak but should hold for many years.
Classic Claret style with glossy dark fruit and dark chocolate aromas and flavours, well-marshalled abundant fine-grained tannins and fresh cleansing acidity. (NB)

Medium crimson. Fresh redcurrant and cranberry aromas with sage, ginger and tobacco leaf notes. An elegantly proportioned wine with supple red fruits, underlying mocha oak and powdery fine/chalky tannins. Finishes firm with lively minerally notes. An early drinking lighter style reflecting a wet vintage.
2012 ««««« Drink now to 2035.
Medium-deep crimson. Intense mulberry, blackberry and mocha aromas with dried herb notes. Generous and supple with plentiful mulberry and blackberry fruits, fine slinky dry/gravelly tannins, attractive richness and volume and underlying mocha and panforte notes. Finishes grainy/gravelly firm with plenty of sweet fruit following through. A lot of presence but quite muscular in structure.
Lovely wine with purple and dark fruits, tannins and oak driving through the fabric of the palate. (JH)

Medium-deep crimson. Fragrant herb garden, star anise, shellac and mulberry aromas with vanilla notes. A generously proportioned and sweet fruited wine with dense mulberry fruits, fine chocolaty tannins and fresh roasted chestnut and vanilla mocha oak notes. Finishes chalky and minerally. Keep for a while.
Rich ripe and opulent with loads of chocolate, crushed mulberry and cocoa. A big palate with structured velvety tannins. (FW)
Still very reserved and youthful with well-balanced dark fruits, abundant but finely textured tannins. Finishes firm and dry as expected of a traditional Claret style. (NB)

Medium-deep crimson. Intense ripe apricot and mulberry aromas with star anise and notes of dried roses. A generous and almost plush wine with beautiful, dense and expansive apricot, mulberry and liquorice flavours, superb mid-palate viscosity and fresh vanilla toasty notes. Finishes firm with a superb tannin plume. Exotic, generous and beautiful. Should age magnificently.
Kaleidoscopic with exotic floral blue fruit apricot aromas, luscious flavours and silky tannins. (JR)

2015 «««« Drink 2023 to 2045.
Medium-deep crimson. Intense dark plum, mulberry and blackberry fruits with dark chocolate and slight stone fruit notes. Sweet violet, plum and mulberry fruits, surprisingly sinewy tannins and underlying smoky oak. Finishes aggressively sappy firm with excellent fruit length. Still elemental, muscular and unforgiving but should at some stage come around.
Lovely classic shiraz with beautiful pure blue fruits and coffee mocha vanilla nuances. The tannins are quite forward but might settle down with time. (FW)

2016 ««««« Drink 2025 to 2045.
Medium-deep crimson. Black olive tapenade, cassis and violet aromas with mocha vanilla oak notes. Generous blackberry, blackcurrant and mulberry fruits, fine/firm cedary tannins and
underlying inky vanilla notes. Finishes oaky firm with a long and fresh tannin plume. Still in evolution and not ready yet.
Stunning perfection with blackberry liquorice aromas and flavours, intensity and purity. (JH)
Polished and plush with dark cherry, dark chocolate, stone fruits and cinnamon sticks. Richly flavoured with a muscular framework and ferruginous length. (NR)
2017 «««« Drink 2025 to 2050.
Medium-deep crimson. Fragrant and high-toned violet, mulberry and cranberry aromas with toasty oak notes. Well-concentrated exuberant crushed blackberry, mulberry, raspberry and violet flavours, fine grainy tannins, mocha oak complexity and fresh but overt acidity. Lacking mid-palate richness and volume right now but should develop more complexity and power with age.
Stands out with its cool growing season pedigree, plentiful red fruits and silky mouthfeel. (JH)
Rich ripe dark fruits and gentle spice notes. Very silky in structure with lithe, athletic boundless energy. The tannins are well-balanced against fruit and oak. (NB)
2018 «««« Drink 2026 to 2040.
Deep crimson. Intense elderberry, blackberry, black olive and herb/bay leaf aromas with ginger and vanilla oak notes. Expressive and vigorous with fresh inky elderberry, blackberry, tapenade and spice flavours, fine granular bittersweet tannins and plentiful cedar oak. Finishes graphite/ cedary firm. Quite muscular in structure but balanced by plush fruit. Time will tell.
Ripe fig, dark cherry, juniper, dried herbs and peppercorns with trademark pan-scrapings, malt/ spice oak and powdered dark chocolate. Shiraz attired differently; Magill genes omnipresent! (PG)
