Deep crimson. Perfumed blackcurrant, amaro, chinotto and black olive aromas with leafy tobacco complexity. Deeply concentrated yet animated wine with deep-set blackcurrant, dark olive and herb flavours, fine persistent chocolaty dry tannins and plentiful sweet mocha/slight coconut oak notes. Finishes grainy firm.
Intense cassis aromas with floral notes. Darkly fruited, and tightly furled. In a black hole but the elements should integrate. (NB)
Sweet blackberry jam/pastille aromas with heady alcohol. Well-managed tannins but the structure is not yet in balance. (FW)

Deep crimson. Intense chocolate, mulberry and aniseed aromas with herb garden notes. Generous, powerful and sweet fruited with ample mulberry and inky blackcurrant fruits, powerful fine tannins, attractive mid-palate richness, savoury mocha oak and integrated slaty acidity. Well-balanced with decades of potential.
Expressive wine with dark berry fruits and lifted incense notes. The tannins are totally in balance with the intensity and concentration of fruit. (JR)
Chocolaty, expansive, deep and detailed with a fine, granular grip and long finish. (NR)

Deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant, dark chocolate, cherry liqueur and roasted coffee aromas. A richly flavoured wine with blackcurrant, dark chocolate and panforte flavours, vigorous powerful muscular driving tannins and underlying savoury espresso oak notes. Sweet fruited wine with the structure and attack to age for decades. Keep for a while.
This has unlimited potential but massively structured. Don t drink it now. (JH)
Really stands out for its texture, weight and cassis/ liqueur-like characters. This has real depth and lusciousness without being thick or heavy. (JR)
2013 «««« Drink 2025 to 2045.
Deep crimson. Opulent cassis, praline, cedar and leafy aromas with meaty espresso notes. Ample, almost soupy wine with deep-set cassis, blackberry and mulberry flavours, fine ripe dense chalky tannins and roasted chestnut/vanilla oak notes. Brambly dry sinewy finish. Should develop well.
A crowd-pleaser with an uncertain long-term future from a structure point of view. (JH)
Graceful blackcurrant aromas with tomato leaf notes. Supple and layered with plush dark fruits, oak complexity and plentiful melting velvety tannins. Enveloping but not smothering. (NB)

Deep crimson. Classic intense blackcurrant pastille and cedar aromas with herb garden liqueur notes and mocha complexity. Densely concentrated with beautiful blackcurrant pastille, mulberry fruits, plentiful graphite al dente tannins and balanced mocha/vanilla oak nuances. Finishes brambly firm but rich and minerally long. Needs time to reveal its extraordinary personality.
Effortlessly graceful and perfectly balanced with wonderful fruit buoyancy and penetrating dense tannins. A Claret style of amazing scale and tension. (NB)

2015 ««««« Drink 2025 to 2050.
Deep crimson. Intense black cherry, blackcurrant, ink and anise aromas with praline notes. Fresh supple black cherry, cassis, mulberry and bramble flavours, fine grainy cedar tannins and savoury oak complexity. Medium-bodied for a Bin 707 but has a natural grace and flow. Will probably develop more quickly than 2014.
Powerful graceful wine with vibrant floral, red fruits, spices and sappy focussed palate. (JR)
Beautifully detailed and deeply packed with lovely balance and an assured footing. The tannins are already integrated and resolved. (NR)

Deep crimson. Fresh elderberry, cassis and herb garden aromas with aniseed/ liquorice notes. Rich fruit-sweet wine with ample cassis, elderberry and boysenberry fruits, fine chocolaty tannins and mocha oak complexity. A beautifully balanced and youthful wine with elegance and power. Substantial yet classical with the richness, volume and vinosity for long-term aging.
A sultry and impenetrable wine with no chink of light. Untamed potential. (JH)
A transcendent wine of immense scale and purity. Expansive and intricately balanced with silky black fruits, staining density and perfectly concealed tannins. (NB)

2018 ««««« Drink 2025 to 2050.
Deep crimson. Fresh pure cassis, mulberry, dark cherry and herb garden/sage aromas with espresso and new oak notes. Fine-grained, dense and voluminous with pure blackcurrant, mulberry fruit, supple graphite textures and plentiful roasted coffee and vanilla oak notes. Finishes grainy/grippy firm with persistent sweet fruit. Powerful, layered and generous with lovely inky density, mid-palate richness and mineral length. Will unfold gracefully over time. Leave it for a while.
Scents of boysenberry, kirsch and sandalwood. Juicy blackcurrant/cranberry fruits with a fine weave of slinky tannins and dark chocolate/cedar complexity. (PG)
