Deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant, leafy herb and sage aromas with dark chocolate and mocha notes. A faint hint of mint and eucalypt. Dense and ripe blackcurrant, cassis and mulberry fruits, sage and leafy leather characters. Fine, dense and compact grainy cedar tannins, liquorice, roasted walnut and graphite notes. Finishes leafy firm yet chocolaty sweet. Barossa and cabernet sauvignon in total alignment.
Selected for the limited-edition 750mL Penfolds Ampoule designed and crafted by Adelaide glass artist Nick Mount with the assistance of Hendrik Forster (metal detailing), Andrew Bartlett (Jarrah timber cabinet) and Ray Leak (glass blower). Very rare with only 12 made. Released at $168,000 each in 2012, at the time the most expensive wine in the world sold direct by a winery.

Deep crimson. Slightly subdued with blackcurrant, blackberry, dark chocolate and liquorice aromas. Densely concentrated blackcurrant, mocha and dark chocolate flavours with herb garden and leafy cigar box nuances. Fine/supple grippy tannins and underlying savoury, meaty, roasted nut and panforte complexity.
56 percent Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon (Block 20) and 44 percent Barossa Valley shiraz (Kalimna Vineyard, Blocks 4 and 14; Koonunga Hill, Block 53G).
Supple and poised with intense floral, blackberry,
raspberry and blueberry aromas with exotic spices. Tannins arrive late giving a gentle grip at the finish. (JR)
A big, deep and meaty nose with crushed cooked blackcurrants. Surprisingly jammy on the palate with integrated tannins, a rounded mouthfeel and richly fruity length. (FW)

Deep crimson. Fresh herb, blackcurrant and leafy aromas with dark chocolate and mocha notes. Attractive and dense cassis, black cherry and leafy flavours, fine-plentiful al dente tannins, mid-palate viscosity and mocha/roasted walnut oak notes. Finishes gravelly firm with attractive inky plume. Classic Coonawarra bay leaf and mint notes.
Beautiful violets, mulberries, pepper and fennel seed. Deep set, supple and ultra-plush with abundant integrated tannins. (NR).

Deep crimson. Elemental elderberry, blackberry and bramble aromas with ginger and vanilla oak complexity. Richly concentrated with deep-set blackberry, elderberry and raspberry fruits, fine-plentiful brambly textures, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours. Pronounced long, fresh juicy acidity. Finishes long, inky and tannic. Decades ahead of it.
54 percent Clare Valley and 46 percent Barossa Valley.
Dripping with vivid black fruits and violets. Gloriously silky, elegant and lithe, yet richly layered and profoundly tannic. All the elements seamlessly in balance. (NB)

Deep crimson. Fresh blackberry, dark chocolate and nutty aromas with mocha-espresso notes. Intensely concentrated and inky with deep blackberry and dark chocolate flavours, fine loose-knit ripe slinky/chocolaty textures and meaty roasted nut flavours. Finishes inky and grainy with ground coffee notes. Lovely ripe and persistent chewy tannins.
Selected and bottled in six-litre imperial bottles for the LINLEY for Penfolds collaboration. The oak and eucalyptus timber cabinets were designed and crafted by British cabinet-maker Earl David Linley.

Deep crimson. Beautiful elderberry, mulberry, dark chocolate, espresso and liquorice aromas. Richly flavoured and generous with saturated elderberry, blackberry and mulberry fruits. Plentiful fine/dense chocolaty tannins balanced with vanilla, roasted chestnut and ginger notes. Finishes chalky firm with persistent inky pure dark fruits. Still elemental but well-balanced with lovely density, vigour and extract. From vines planted over 100 years ago. A symbol of harmony, generosity and generations of effort.
