Medium-deep crimson. Intense cola and cassis aromas with herb garden notes and tobacco nuances. A fresh and dynamic wine with cassis, blackcurrant and cedar-roasted walnut notes, plentiful grainy/slight leafy tannins and underlying mocha complexity. Finishes leafy firm and minerally.
Smoky meaty aromas, cherry liqueur notes and pronounced tannins. (JR)

Medium-deep crimson. Roasted chestnut and cassis aromas with capsicum and herb garden notes. Generous and Bordeaux-like in structure with cassis and cedar flavours, fine grainy, slightly al dente tannins and underlying vanilla oak. Finishes firm and long with dried roses and herb notes.
Blackcurrant, slight capsicum/vegetal aromas and flavours. Elegant, sleek and weighty with a strange haunting beauty. Not spectacular but memorable. (NB)
Violets and mulberries with bay leaf and lavender. Lithe with a fine tannin weave and long tight lines through the palate. (NR)
2000 «« Drink now to past.
Medium crimson. Cranberry and mulberry fruits combined with tobacco leaf/polished leather notes and firm grainy-dry tannins. A relatively early drinking Bin 407 that reached its full potential some years ago. Still benefitting from the density achieved through declassified Bin 707 fruit.
2001 ««« Best to drink now.
Medium-deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant, cedar and black olive aromas with forest floor/mint nuances. Voluminous blackcurrant, black olive and walnut flavours, pronounced firm granular tannins, underlying espresso, cedar, oak and tobacco leaf/earthy notes. A robust wine with lasting power rather than further potential to improve.

Medium-deep crimson. Fresh cassis, mint and sage aromas with tobacco leaf notes. Sinuous, medium-concentrated and long with blackcurrant and sage flavours, fine loose-knit leafy tannins and espresso oak notes. Finishes chalky firm with herb garden notes.
Menthol and minty but savoury on the palate with clear umami notes. Tannins are elegantly fine-grained and extremely well integrated. (FW)
Very good varietal expression with attractive balance and length. (JH)

Deep crimson. Fresh and mature blackcurrant, dark chocolate, herb garden and mulchy cigar box aromas. A richly concentrated and slightly gritty wine with abundant dark chocolate, dark-fruited flavours, pronounced vigorous firm sappy tannins and cedar oak complexity. Atypical year but holding.
