Penfolds Bin 23 Pinot Noir follows in the footsteps of the success and development of the Cellar Reserve Pinot Noir, and Max's Pinot Noir continues our exploration and endeavour with this varietal.

For other Penfolds pinot noir releases, grapes are sourced from multiple cool-climate regions across Australia, including Tasmania, the Adelaide Hills and Henty in Victoria.
All Penfolds pinot noir are crafted to be enjoyable upon release, however they will also benefit from some time in the cellar. It also depends on the style of pinot noir crafted, the region sourced from, and the vinification.
Generally speaking, the best drinking window exists within ten years from the wine’s vintage.
Penfolds Bin 23 Pinot Noir follows in the footsteps of the success and development of the Cellar Reserve release.
Penfolds Cellar Reserve Pinot Noir was first released in 1997 with a small initial production sourced from the Adelaide Hills.
The inaugural Penfolds Bin 23 Pinot Noir was vintage in 2009, and was also sourced from the Adelaide Hills. Its bin number was derived from Cellar 23 at Magill Estate, where it was originally stored for maturation. Since then, Bin 23 has continued to be an important addition to The Penfolds Collection presenting a bold and dynamic style with strawberry hues and cherry-like characters.
Fruit is now predominantly sourced from Tasmania, Adelaide Hills and Henty in Victoria.
