Grange is arguably Australia’s most celebrated wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Grange boasts an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951 and clearly demonstrates the synergy between Shiraz and the soils and climates of South Australia.
Bin 707 is a true Cabernet Sauvignon representation of the Penfolds ‘House Style’. First vintaged in 1964, the wine was not made from 1970 to 1975 (when fruit was directed to other wines) nor in 1981, 1995, 2000, 2003 or 2011 (when fruit of the required style was not available).
Bin 169 is a contemporary showcase of cabernet and Coonawarra. First vintaged in 2008, this richly concentrated wine is steeped in the origins of Penfolds modern winemaking tradition. Bin 169 is only made in years when exceptional parcels of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon are available.
RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz was initially developed as a Red Winemaking Trial (RWT). Launched in 2000 with the 1997 vintage, this distinctly modern wine articulates the Barossa terroir with Penfolds signature 'House Style'.
The single vineyard Magill Estate Shiraz is intrinsically linked to Penfolds beginnings. First produced in 1983, Magill Estate Shiraz is a sleek, contemporary wine, yet crafted the old fashioned way in the 170+ year-old winery: hand-picked, vinified in open fermenters and then basket pressed.
St Henri is a time-honoured and alternative expression of Shiraz. Created in the early 1950s, the first commercial vintage was in 1957. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages.
Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz, affectionately known as ‘baby Grange’, is one of Australia’s great cellaring wines. First vintaged in 1960, by the legendary winemaker Max Schubert, Bin 389 exemplifies the judicious Penfolds balance of fruit and oak.
Launched with the 1990 vintage in 1993, Bin 407 was developed in response to the increasing availability of high quality Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. Inspired by Bin 707, Bin 407 offers varietal definition and approachability, yet with structure and depth of flavour.
First vintaged in 2008, Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is a sub-regional expression conceived from the ancient soils of Marananga in the Barossa Valley. A contemporary Shiraz alternative, framed by a mix of oaks; French and American, old and new.
First made in 1959, Kalimna Bin 28 is named after the famous Barossa Valley Kalimna Vineyard from which the wine was originally sourced. Today, Bin 28 is a multi-region, multi-vineyard blend, with the Barossa Valley always well represented.
Created in 1962, Bin 128 is a regional wine that reflects the unique climate and growing conditions of South Australia’s Coonawarra region and the relatively elegant style of cool-climate Shiraz.
Bin 138 draws its inspiration from the wines of the Southern Rhone. The first vintages (1992-1997) were released as ‘Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre’. It was elevated to Bin status for the 1998 vintage.
Bin 23’s name is derived from the place the Pinot Noir matures, ‘Cellar 23’ at Magill Estate. First vintaged in 2009, Bin 23 is a bold and dynamic wine sourced from the cool climate, high altitude Adelaide Hills region.
First vintaged in 2012 at the Penfolds Nuriootpa winery, Bin 9 is a multi-regional, contemporary expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are sourced from vineyards across South Australia with a significant portion from the ancient soils of McLaren Vale. The 2015 vintage was last vintage to be released.
First vintaged in 2003 in response to an interest in Cabernet Shiraz blends, Bin 8 is a classic Australian wine style that caught the attention of the international wine media.
Bin 2 was first released in 1960, yet was discontinued in Australia in the 1970s at the height of the white wine boom. The original Bin 2 was an ‘Australian Burgundy’ style (despite its Rhône varieties) – typically a soft, medium-bodied wine based on Shiraz.
Launched in 1998 with the 1995 vintage, Yattarna Chardonnay is the result of one of the most comprehensive, and highly publicised wine development projects ever conducted in Australia. Selectively sourcing only the very best Chardonnay fruit from cool-climate regions, coupled with sensitive and enlightened winemaking, the style continues to evolve.
Reserve Bin A Chardonnay has established a strong following since it was first released in 1994. Sourced from the Adelaide Hills, all fruit is hand-picked into small bins and then whole bunch pressed.
Bin 311 Chardonnay is sourced to style from a single, cool-climate region. First vintaged in 2005, the Bin 311 style typically exhibits a mineral acid backbone, complemented by barrel fermentation and maturation in seasoned oak.
Introduced in 1999 (originally as Eden Valley Reserve Bin Riesling), Bin 51 captures the attributes of Eden Valley, a region that is world renowned for its riesling. The region’s high altitude and cool climate induces Riesling with great finesse, elegance with a capacity for long term cellaring.
Created as part of the evolving Penfolds white wine development program, Reserve Bin Aged Release Eden Valley Riesling captures the essence of the mature Eden Valley Riesling style.
