To toast 175 years of innovative winemaking, we went back to where it all began with a gala dinner at Penfolds Magill Estate Winery.
Penfolds winemakers past and present were joined by special guests, including members of the Penfold family and Sandie Coff and Brentyn Schubert, the children of Max Schubert, the creator of Grange.
Guests explored our ‘All Star Wines’ from the last 175 years, including Grange, Bin 60A and 50 Year Old Rare Tawny, before enjoying a three-course dinner in the historic tunnels of Magill Estate.
A very special release
The gala dinner culminated in the unveiling of Special Bin 111A, a new, rare wine from the 2016 vintage. Our first Special Bin wine release in almost a decade.
Penfolds Special Bin wines represent the pinnacle of winemaking endeavour, using only the most exceptional fruit parcels from the very best regions.
Guests finished the evening with a champagne toast at Magill Estate Restaurant, led by Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago and Champagne Thiénot Managing Director, Stanislas Thiénot.
At Penfolds we put our wines first. After 175 years something must be working … our winemaking and viticulture teams continue to build upon the legacy of generations of their forbears.
