"I didn’t get a proper look at the bottle but I doubt that it’s 750ml. Price is approximate. 330 bottles are released each year. The wine is drawn from a span of vintages ranging across roughly 100 years; average age of the wine is 50 years.
The price may well be in ‘stupid’ territory but the quality is quite ridiculously good. Yes to fabulous intensity and yes to a complex array of flavours but that everlasting linger of flavour to the finish is a blaze of glory if ever there was one. Spicy and intensely sweet, aged and fresh all at once. Mind-blowing."

"Full amber/tawny colour with yellow-green rim. The bouquet is matchlessly complex and multi-faceted, yet with great freshness. Walnuts, dried fruits, old leather armchairs, a wine of enormous complexity and charm. Amazing power and richness, very sweet but also wonderful rancio and acidity drying the finish. Marvellous balance and persistence. A great fortified wine."
Deep olive brown with a distinctive yellow-green edge.
Vibrant and fresh, intensely complex and Christmas pudding elements all with vanillin, burnt toffee, dark chocolate seamlessly integrated.
Silky and luscious with concentrated flavours of mocha, chocolate and fruit cake. These flavours evolve and complex into salted plum and savoury spices, lingering on and on in a perfectly balanced finish.
A blend of many varieties that include, but not limited to, Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Cabernet.
Multi-regional blend, South Australia. Sourced from specifically selected vineyards identified for producing fruit with the characteristics required to produce wines that can successfully undergo the fifty-plus years maturation in old seasoned oak.
Maturation in seasoned oak hogsheads. Some components were aged further in the original Grandfather Solera. The 1915 component, after barrel maturation was glass-aged in half-gallon flagons. Vintage components also include 1940, 1945 and various vintages and blends from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, including 1959 to 1962, 1971, 1974 and 1987.
