Serving your wine
Serving temperature
White wine is best consumed at low temperatures. However, if the wine temperature is too low, it will suppress its aroma and flavor. White wines with fragrant aromas such as Riesling or Pinot Gris can be taken out of the refrigerator, but full-bodied wines such as Chardonnay are best consumed at a temperature a few degrees higher than the former. Red wine is best consumed at 18-20 degrees Celsius or 64-68 degrees Fahrenheit.
In summer, if the ambient temperature is too high, it is necessary to cool the wine slightly. Red wine with too high temperature may volatilize, causing its alcohol concentration to become high and fail to show its best state.
Glass wine set
Wine lovers can choose a variety of high-quality glass wineware. The brand, style and appearance of the wine set purchased depends on personal wine preference, taste and budget. Most prestigious glass producers believe that the shape and size of wine glasses have a direct impact on the aroma and flavor of wine.
Many glass manufacturers have developed glass wine sets suitable for different grape varieties and wine styles. For general purpose wine glasses, Penfolds recommends that you use high-quality large wine glasses to prevent splashing when rotating the wine. High-quality wine glasses are a work of art in themselves, they can help you appreciate the color of the wine and promote the aroma of the wine to gush from the mouth of the glass.
The problem of poor storage of wine glasses is rarely mentioned. If the wine glass is not used frequently or stored in a carton, it will accumulate fine dust or absorb environmental odors. Wine glasses stored in wooden or classic wine cabinets are particularly prone to this problem.
If the glass is not cleaned before use, the wine will also be contaminated. Washing in the dishwasher will also leave a layer of detergent on the glass. If the wine glass is not thoroughly cleaned, it will quickly become odorous. Before cleaning the wine glass, remove the lipstick mark, because the wax in the lipstick may decompose and cover the inside of the glass. Penfolds recommends that you clean and dry the glass before use, unless you are very sure about the storage of the glass.
